Today is Holy Trinity Sunday in the Catholic Church. This is the time the Church honors God as the Holy Trinity. It follows the Church’s celebration of Pentecost, the time when we, as a Church, acknowledge the gift of the Holy Spirit.
When we talk about the Holy Trinity, we refer to the three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in one God. Over the centuries, theologians have written brilliant treatises on this subject. I have not read these, nor are they the topic of this post.
